Several weeks ago, a sudden and brief storm changed the shape of the sculpture by bending it toward the south. At that stage, the squash and gourds had finished producing fruit. The weather was hot in the 100s and very dry. Most of the zinnias dried up. The basil looked exhausted! The luffa and morning glories (purple variety) took off and began to shape the new form. As we approached the harvest time the “Stupa” started to open up to the shape of a “cornucopia”! The bright yellow flowers of the luffa and the purple morning glories bring a delight to the garden.
