The Living Stupa conclusion

Several weeks ago, a sudden and brief storm changed the shape of the sculpture by bending it toward the south. At that stage, the squash and gourds had finished producing fruit. The weather was hot in the 100s and very dry. Most of the zinnias dried up. The basil looked exhausted! The luffa and morning glories (purple variety) took off and began to shape the new form. As we approached the harvest time the “Stupa” started to open up to the shape of a “cornucopia”! The bright yellow flowers of the luffa and the purple morning glories bring a delight to the garden.

For this exhibition, the following artists are featured: Henry Biber, Gisa Elwazir, Angelia Ford, Heather Levy, John Marcucci, Jill Nonnemacher, Piloto, Marius Silaghi, and Madeleine Terry.

Haley-Henman Contemporary Art established the first art gallery in West Dallas in 2007. With a mission to support local artists, more than 300 artists have exhibited their work in visual and performance media. We encourage collaboration in group installation works, and special exhibitions such as with the Texas Sculpture Association, the Creative Arts Center of Dallas, and Prism Company. The core group of our represented artists provides motivation and innovation in our programming that is creating a more mobile paradigm. ###
