DALLAS, Texas (March 18, 2010)--Haley-Henman Gallery is honored to exhibit the works by Gisela-Heidi Strunck and Jürgen Strunck from May 8 through June 12, 2010. The opening reception will be on Saturday, May 8 from 6-9 pm. The reception is free and open to the public.
Gisela-Heidi Strunck is a sculptor who is noted for combining a rich variety of materials into visual and tactile forms that excite the imagination and memory of past references and future possibilities. Although having lost most of her sight in 2003, she has continued exploring the more tactile interactions of her art with the support of her husband, Jürgen, to feel the overall effect of her sculptural compositions. These works portray the vitality of her life force in terms of contemplative structure and order, as well as humorous insights.
Jürgen Strunck brings his innovative printmaking techniques to his newest works with much gusto and imagination. The fascinating interplay of geometric shapes within the dimensions of spatial depth is indeed enhanced by his luminous colors. His distinctive compositions demand the viewer’s response—there is no room for neutrality. Yet, the attraction to his work brings out feelings of being comfortable, secure, and timeless in the geometric abstractions of his worlds.
Gisela-Heidi and Jürgen Strunck have traveled the world to give us a chance to explore our worlds within their art. It is an honor to have artists who have given us so much. They have exhibited internationally and are in many museums and private collections. As part of our mission to exhibit the diversity of our regional artists, Haley-Henman is indeed honored to exhibit the exceptional Gisela-Heidi Strunck and Jürgen Strunck.
