Opening Reception:  Saturday, December 4, 2010 from 6:00pm-9:00pm
Haley-Henman Gallery, 2335 Hardwick Street, Dallas, Texas 75208

DALLAS, Texas (October 13, 2010)--Haley-Henman Gallery, as part of its goal to support the diversity of our regional artists, is proud to present and support Shared Visions: Creative Arts Center Faculty Exhibition, curated by David Hickman.  The exhibition will open with an artists’ reception on Saturday, December 4, 2010 from 6-9 pm. The reception is free and open to the public. The exhibition will continue until January 8, 2011.  The Creative Arts Center of Dallas (CAC) is a non-profit, educational institution where people discover, develop and express their artistic visions.  The Creative Arts Center of Dallas has been providing visual art classes for more than 40 years that value the diversity of the creative spirit within us all.

David Hickman, the curator of the show, brings a special depth to the exhibition as an early student and faculty member of the CAC when it was located in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas. Among his many awards and distinctions, the Texas Commission on the Arts selected him as the Texas State Three Dimensional Artist for 2004. This historical connection, and CAC’s vision, is particularly significant for Haley-Henman with its location in Oak Cliff and its focus on the diversity of our local and regional artists. For these reasons, Haley-Henman will donate twenty percent of all sales during the exhibition period to the Creative Arts Center.

This exhibition demonstrates how these teachers share their creative visions by the various media of fiber, clay, photography, jewelry, mosaics, and a variety of mixed media paintings and drawings.  The twenty selected artists will present forty-nine artworks.  The participating faculty members are:  Awadh Baryoum (painting), Kathy Loucas (sculpture), Katherine Baronet (painting), Michael Blackwell (photography), Susan Tinker O’Neal (mosaic), Terri Thoman (drawings and prints), Vet (paintings), Jamie Pink (mosaic), Katrina Doran (mosaic), Valery Guignon (fiber, painting, sculpture), Susan Giller (painting), Marianne Gargor (painting), Lynn Armstrong (sculpture), Annie Chrietzberg (ceramics), Albert Scherbarth (drawing), Ilene Kay (jewelry), Jessie Pollak (photography), Suzanne Morgan (fiber), Dave Kramer (painting), and Rebecca Swann (jewelry).

Haley-Henman would like to remind viewers of the exhibition that this wonderful variety of original artworks, reasonably priced, are for sale and will be removed from the gallery when sold to accommodate customers during the holiday season.  The gallery will make every effort to replenish artwork, but since each work is an original, one of a kind, we note that the exhibition might change during the exhibition period.

Gallery hours are noon to 5:00 pm, Wednesday through Saturday.  We enjoy opening the gallery for your convenience, please call 214.749.1277 for an appointment.  The gallery is located west of downtown Dallas.  Crossing over the Trinity River by the Commerce Street Bridge, take the third left onto Hardwick Street (Allied Fence Company is on the corner).  Haley-Henman Gallery is located at 2335 Hardwick Street.  Please visit the website for more information:  http://www.haleyhenman.com.
