Labyrinth - Madeleine Terry
March 6, 2010 – May 1, 2010
Opening Reception: Saturday, March 6, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

DALLAS, Texas (January 27, 2010)—Haley-Henman proudly presents the one person exhibition of artworks by Madeleine Terry, entitled, Labyrinth. The exhibition opens with a reception for Ms. Terry on Saturday, March 6, 2010 from 6-9 pm. The exhibition will continue until May 1, 2010.

Labyrinth explores Ms. Terry’s deep experience with this ancient Neolithic symbol and is the center of orientation for viewing her works. In this sense, she invites us on a journey to experience the pathway of our own discovery. As Dr. Lauren Artress says, “The new ways of understanding continue to be placed over and against the old ways of understanding our existence on earth. How we know and learn, and how we remain open to the present and future without fear are major challenges in our lives” (1995:117).

Madeleine Terry presents mixed media paintings, sculptures, and color pencil works . Her works suspend doubt for the moment, invite wonder, touch the inner place of quiet, stimulate curiosity, and express the movement of spiritual energy. Haley-Henman welcomes individuals and groups to view Ms. Terry’s works and participate in the experience of the Labyrinth.

Gallery hours are Wednesday through Saturday, noon to 5:00 pm, and by appointment.

See, Dr. Lauren Artess in, Walking a Sacred Path: Rediscovering the Labyrinth as a Spiritual Tool. New York: Riverhead Books (1995, p. 117). There are numerous labyrinths in the Dallas metroplex. Recently, an outdoor labyrinth was installed at Southern Methodist University’s Perkins School of Theology, and nearby the gallery, there is an outdoor labyrinth at Kessler Park United Methodist Church.
