God's Hands by Joshua Stone
DALLAS, Texas (June 11, 2008)—Haley-Henman presented Joshua Stone’s “God’s Hands”, on July 9, 2008 through September 6, 2008. A reception with Joshua Stone was held on Saturday, July 19, from 6"00 pm.- 9:00 pm.
Joshua Stone is a Dallas based, emerging artist who is becoming recognized nationally. He has exhibited his collections in Dallas, New York, Los Angeles, and Denver. Haley-Henman presented two collections: “Reassembled Deconstruction” and “Typographic Redistribution” which were acclaimed by a broad spectrum of collectors. In our third consecutive exhibition, entitled “God’s Hands”, Joshua is breaking new barriers of media and dimensions. His use of mixed media calls out urban streets and seductive sirens. He uses rubber, tar, latex, gravel, broken beer bottles and resin in vibrantly hued paintings that explore intense representations of the sheer complexity of the universe. Layered on these color fields, his abstract portraits in graffiti allow us to experience our unique role as individuals and that of the artist. His use of richly textured color blocks projects his construct of God holding our universe together—the Magnetic, Subtle, and much needed Soul Glue.
The seven paintings in this collection are Joshua’s newest creations. Haley-Henman is pleased to represent Joshua Stone, a significant contributor to his generation of artists. |
